Data professionals at any level, from analysts and engineers to team leaders, who are strong technically but feel overlooked, stretched or unsure what to do next. Your employer or industry doesn’t matter.

Do I need to be looking for a new job?

Not necessarily. People often look for a new job because they feel undervalued, but looking takes time and moving is risky. Sometimes the better move is to develop yourself into a more senior role, even one that doesn’t exist yet. That’s what I did, and I kept a workplace near home. The career diagnostic builds skills that count here and in external roles. If your job is at risk, looking elsewhere may be right, and those skills will help.

How accurate is it?

It’s a self-assessment, so it requires self-awareness, and it shows how you see yourself. Eight questions give you a useful starting picture, not a verdict. At work, what counts most is how others see you. In a Career Check-In, I tell you how you come across to me. I have no stake in your organisation’s politics, so I say what I see. That helps most when feedback from your manager is vague or missing.

What if I get a poor score?

There’s no pass or fail. Every result places you in one of four profiles, and each comes with a next step. A lower score shows where there’s most room to grow, and that’s useful to know.

What happens when I finish?
